So I've been trying to think of what to update my blog with and can't think of anything. So I guess I'll put in a scrapbooking update! I got my 2009 yearbook printed! Hooray! It's so exciting when you get your book back. It's all bound and glossy and beautiful! I was late getting it finished, since I have really been far more interested in Afton's book. Cannot WAIT to finish that one! It's going to be done right on time, I think, and I'll publish it this month after her 1 year birthday! So, here are some shots from the book I just published. I have sacrified the 12x12 size to get a nice 8 1/2 x 11 bound book which is much easier to store and carry and it's TOTALLY been worth it. Hooray for Cherishbound!

And here is a couple of pages from Afton's book. Oh it's gonna be so fun to see it all printed! This is the BEST PART of digital scrapbooking!

Whenever I try to look up ideas for digital scrapbooking, I'm so annoyed. I mean, every example is the same--a huge 12x12 page with ONE photo, lots of blank space, and a MILLION little doo-dads to dress it up. How is that practical? How long are these books people make where they only scrapbook one photo on every page? Where's the journaling--just as important as the picture itself? I feel a little alone in the way I do it but, oh well. That just makes me practical I guess.

One reason I haven't scrapbooked was because of the very thing you described. All the work putting silly do-dads all over the page when all I really want to see are the pictures and maybe a note about what is happening.
Your book here is cute, I might start looking into this style of scrapbooking...
I much prefer a ton of pictures and like you said the journaling! HELLO what is it all about anyway! Love them they are all so cute!
Meg I love it. You are so much better at it than me. I wish I had your creativity. With three kids now, I've resorted to making one background that I use for every page. Then all I have to do is slap on the picture and text and move on. Then I see yours and I wish I could think like you. Oh well, the good thing is that I keep doing it and have these beautiful books for my kids to see. When I complete 2009, I will have 7 years of yearbooks! Plus our dating, marriage, and life before kids. So really I have the first 10 years. Wow.
I love that I have so much of my kids lives documented in my yearbooks while they are so little and have no memories. Believe it or not, you will forget so much of what is in your book and especially Afton's. I love looking at my early books and seeing how much I have forgotten about Preston being little.
Holy crap, that is so freakin' awesome. Seriously, love it and what a cool thing to have in your family for forever. Makes me almost want to start doing it too. . .
How have I neglected to comment on this post? That baby girl is such a stunner! I love the 11 month pictures.
Of course, my favorite is the 'Birds of a Feather' layout. That's just perfect! Those are some QUALITY girls we've all made there!
